You’ve heard our voices before, you know our tagline: “speech language pathologists by day, and Disney diehards by night,” but we wanted to give you a little more about who the voices behind Speaking of Disney Podcast really are.
About Lindsay
Lindsay grew up in Beaverton, Oregon (go Ducks! go Blazers!) with her Disney loving family. Lindsay has a lot of fond memories growing up that involved Disney. Some highlights include: Disney sing along VHS tapes, Disney trivia nights with her cousins and of course, family vacations to Disneyland! She moved to Utah to attend Brigham Young University for her undergraduate work. While applying to grad schools, she applied to Chapman University on a whim, dreaming about how wonderful it would be to live so close to Disneyland. Little did she know that dream would soon become a reality! She is so grateful that it did because it led her to Kayla! Lindsay currently works in a school district with preschool children, her favorite age group. She loves to travel, run, hike and be outdoors as much as she can, and of course, she frequents Disneyland every chance she gets!
About Kayla
Kayla is a Southern California native who grew up going to Disneyland quite frequently. She’s had an annual pass on-and-off since childhood, and when asked what she would like to do for her birthday (big party? vacation?), she always responded with “Disneyland.” She works as a speech-language pathologist in the schools and does side work at hospitals. She just started teaching at Chapman University in the same program where she met Lindsay, her Disney Best Friend Forever. She’s going back to school to get a clinical doctorate for speech-language pathology because she just loves this field so much. Out of her thousand jobs, her favorite is being a mommy to two Disney die-hards in training, her two little boys who you might hear in the background of some podcast episodes. Her husband Joe, a huge Star Wars fan, can admit that his wardrobe has slowly evolved from surfing shirts to Disney shirts as he’s been married to Kayla. There’s no escaping the Disney love - her golden retriever might be getting a spirit jersey quite soon. If you want to know anything more about Kayla, just ask!
About Us
Lindsay and Kayla met at Chapman University on day one and it was friendship at first sight! They quickly learned of each other's love of Disney and took their study sessions to Disneyland (The best place to study, by the way)! Their friendship continued after grad school with many more Disney trips, thankfully sans flashcards now. Disney is one of their many passions and they are excited to share it with all of you!
